Ghanon was formed in January 2004 by Kevin Griffiths-Boden & Julian Perkins. Kevin was a former member of two local paranormal groups in 1992/93 & 1997 and became an approved investigator for ASSAP in March 1997. He had also previously worked with another local organisation for 5 years prior to forming Ghanon. During that time he has been involved in radio broadcasts, has appeared in newspaper articles and assisted the BBC with a documentary that has been shown on national television. In January 2007, Kevin joined the ASSAP executive as Membership Secretary. Julian has also had a lifelong interest in the paranormal and is a qualified electrician and CCTV engineer; he also worked with the same organisation as Kevin between 2000 & 2003 and became an approved investigator for ASSAP in November 2006.
The group was established to investigate and research alleged paranormal phenomena in a scientific and objective manner. An important part of our research is to network with other paranormal organisations by sharing information and ideas in order to develop the understanding of the paranormal. Private investigations are treated professionally and with confidence, and only with client consent will we publish any details on our website (or any other form of media). We are a voluntary group so no form of contribution is required. We do not conduct exorcisms or take part in any form of occult magic.
The procedure for our investigations involves: a) interviewing witnesses, b) site survey, c) research history of location, d) vigils, e) conclusions – all of which are fully documented and a copy is handed to the client on completion.
Vigils can take place during the day or night depending on the phenomena, but usually take place at night when light & sound can be monitored more efficiently. During a vigil, group members and equipment are allocated positions within the site and are usually split into a number of ‘controlled’ sessions lasting 30-45 minutes each. The team will observe their areas and document any events; these notes form an important part of the case report. Recordings from our equipment are analyzed afterwards and any unaccountable findings are noted.
Our members are based in Wirral, Cheshire & North Wales and most of our investigations are within these locations, although we do and would investigate further a field. Group membership is strictly by invitation only. There are currently 8 full members of Ghanon and it is only these members who would participate in any investigation. The group can offer references from other clients if requested.
